“Blessed is he who has learned to admire but not envy, to follow but not imitate, to praise but not flatter, and to lead but not manipulate.”

We are going to miss these guys!! |
There have been several videos on FB of the Obamas and their leave taking from the White House. I had said I would not be political on my blog and I'm not, but to give homage to such a wonderful couple is not political....showing admiration for and a heart felt feeling of loss at their going, to me, is not political....just putting it out there!!! Here are a couple of my favorite videos! A good bye to
Mr. President. And a memorable speech from one fabulous
first lady!
Here is a link to his top 50 achievements.

ReplyDeleteDitto for my heart.
DeleteSuch a shame, we will be sorry to see them go too. x
ReplyDeleteWe are losing a classy family to a not so classy family. It is a worrisome thing to this person. I fear what the future might hold for our dear country.
ReplyDeleteI feel like President Obama and his family have become our friends and they are moving away from us. It is so sad. He will be known as one the the greatest presidents. I didn't vote for Mr. Trump but I will support him as our president. Being negative and hateful on he and his family will only cause more problems. I will pray for him and for our country. As President Obama said after the election "the sun will still come up in the morning". What a class act...love hearing him talk.
ReplyDeleteWhen President Obama and Michelle came out to go the helicopter today, I got really teary-eyed. Tonight on News Hour, his photographer was interviewed, and photos shown, wonderful story. I even tear up just typing this. I will miss his statesmanship and the grace of his whole family.
ReplyDeleteI am new to your blog, and the title of your post caught my eye. I am in full agreement - such an intelligent and graceful family. I can truly say I love these folks and will miss them very much.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Judy...I hope you enjoyed my ramblings and will return!
DeleteWOW!!! They couldn't leave fast enough for me. A horrific 8 years for this country. Sure hope we can get back on track and make up for all the losses Obama brought. He was supposed to be the great uniter but has caused greater divides than ever. Good riddance!
ReplyDeleteSherrill, whoever you are. I am sorry you feel that way because I feel exactly like that now. I respect your right to disagree with me and I sincerely mean it when I say I hope I am wrong about my fears for what may happen to all of us in the next four years.
