Blog Party/Ami Simms

The above badge is from the blog "2 Bags Full"...I really don't remember signing up for this Party, but I probably did!!  It was suggested that on the evening of January 18th, those involved are to write a little something about how we got started blogging.  I started blogging at the suggestion of my daughter who is a blogger.  My blog is pretty eclectic....I sometimes just ramble...sometimes I have a purpose.

I am a fiber artist, so much of the time, my blog deals with my art work and the art work of those I admire.  I am a member of a wonderful group of gals. We are the Creative Crones of studioQ and we have a marvelous time meeting and learning from each other.  I am in the process this year of doing a Memory Monday...stories of my past which is vast...so therefore includes little snippets of history!!

With this current blog I am also going to promote Ami Simms, a very well known quilter/designer who has been very influential in sponsoring Alzheimer's  Research through her quilting.  She requested that those of us who blog might encourage others to look into what she does and what others can do to help the cause.  She has an ongoing auction of small quilts which everyone can contribute to.  Just click on the following link and learn all about it!

  4. Hi Jay, I'm joining you from the GYB party. I've been here for a little while now and enjoy your Monday Memories. I also got a kick out of your post about your IPhone, if anything is going to get you to enjoy technology it's the IPhone. I see you have the 4S have you made friends with Siri yet? I love that you can dictate to her and she'll type it for you, like your own personal secretary. Ronda

  8. Hey Jay, thank you for coming by my site and becoming a follower. You're a girl after my own heart. I love your idea of Monday Memories. It has made my little brain flip with ideas. Preserving the past for the next generation.....priceless. I'm now a big fan and a new follower. Happy Monday!

  9. My favorite blogs are the ones with stories - yours are great! I was once a member of the FW guild and enjoyed a smaller group of stitchers, one of whom died recently - Sue O'Kelly. That group is a wonderfully creative bunch. Will check back often and I hope you'll do the same.

  11. Hi Jay, Yay, two blogs to explore, your's and your daughter's. I also have a daughter who has started a blog (on my suggestion). She's 20, and good at it, so she's taking her time getting things going, but boy do these kids understand the Wordpress dashboard and coding and etc! Like they were born to it. Anyway, I'm so glad I found you. Fiber arts is something I'd love to learn more about. Oh, story: I had malamutes who shed bags and bags of fur and, one time, a friend asked for the fur and we spent the year brushing and saving all that fur and then she spun it and wove it and we auctioned off a malamute wool shawl as part of an art charity thing. Oh the things a creative mind can do. :) Love your memory Mondays. Great challenge.
