Photography is one of my passions..my family can attest to the fact that I ALWAYS have a camera with me...and now that I have an iPhone!!! I am truly obnoxious with the click and shoot!! I am going to enjoy this blog...not just for the wonderful pictures, but also for the stimulating discussions from the participants!
So for my first entry...(this is week #seven so I am a little behind) I am depicting "Wonder" in the following photographs...

| Enchanted Rock |
"Enchanted Rock is a huge, pink granite exfoliation dome, that rises 425 feet above ground, 1,825 feet above sea level, and covers 640 acres. It is one of the largest batholiths (underground rock formation uncovered by erosion) in the United States." For many years, we would visit the park and climb to the top....quite a view!!
But my next couple of photos are really the "wonder" of the location to me!

it looks like a beautiful place to visit. I would like to see it one day.

ReplyDeleteThank you for such a wonderful introduction to Our Beautiful World and sharing this enchanted place :). I'm a geologist and all rock formations amaze me, LOVE the pink granite dome :). Texas has many wonderful nature and I have enjoyed a field trip up the Guadalupe Mountains many years ago. Seeing the bluebonnets here make me smile :). I love seeing cactus flowers and Indian paintbrushes spruce up in the rocks too. Thanks for sharing the story with us at OBW this week!. :).

Hello Jay! A warm welcome to you to OBW! First of all, a big thank you for your great introduction of our new blog. It's so nice to meet new people from around the world and see the beauty around them through their camera lenses. Your photos and story are wonderful. What a enchanting place this is. The name fits perfectly. The landscape is amazing and so different from where I live (very green and flat Netherlands with meadows and cows). The Bluebonnets remind me a little bit of the lavender we have in our garden. That's what always fascinates me about nature: the existence of beautiful flora and fauna in places so harsh you wouldn't expect to find any.
